I'm looking for a medium sized cargo van for a client and in the process came across a charming little van made by Ford called the Transit Connect Cargo XL.
It doesn't fit the bill for this particular client but I've just fallen in love with it. I can't wait until I get a florist or caterer or some other business that needs a small cargo van.
The Transit Connect XL has been available in Europe for some time but now that Ford is standardizing it's inventory around the globe it is available as a 2010 model in North America. It comes in a wagon version with 5 seats or as a cargo van with 2 seats.
It's specifically designed for tight urban environments, very fuel efficient and makes maximum use of it's space. It's cargo area measures 6.5 feet long, 4.7 feet wide and 6.8 feet tall (low enough for most urban parking garages).
As most of you who drive cargo vans will know these babies usually come stripped down and you're lucky to get an AM/FM radio. The Transit's standard package comes with A/C, CD Player, speed sensitive volume, keyless entry and cup holders,
The average user rating is 4 stars and it's list price is $26,799. It's no wonder they are flying off the lots like hot cakes!
